Bovine Cathepsin S (CTSS) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of bovine Cathepsin S (CTSS) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is reactive with bovine samples, recognises natural and recombinant bovine Cathepsin S, and is intended for research use only.

The assay is run on a microplate format using a colorimetric detection method, with optical density read at 450 nm. It covers a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.44ng/mL. Intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery data are provided with the kit. The kit includes a dismountable microplate, lyophilised standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution and plate sealers.

Cathepsin S is a lysosomal thiol protease that functions as a monomer and plays a key role in the removal of the invariant chain from MHC class II molecules, with bond-specificity partly similar to that of cathepsin L and cathepsin N. The protein has a molecular weight of 37,176 Da, is documented under UniProt P25326, and is associated with the signal transduction research area.
