Bovine Aquaporin-4 (AQP4) ELISA Kit

The assay is intended for use with bovine samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant bovine Aquaporin-4. Functioning as a multi-pass membrane protein that forms a homotetramer and associates with complexes containing MLC1, TRPV4, HEPACAM and ATP1B1, the target is recognised by alternative names including Mercurial-insensitive water channel, WCH4, MIWC, and AQP-4 (UniProt O77750).

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.088 ng/ml. Detection is read at 450 nm using a microplate reader. The product is supplied for research use only, with components including a dismountable microplate (8×12 strips), lyophilised standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution and plate sealer, each with specified storage conditions.
