Veterinary immunology, livestock welfare research, and pharmacokinetic studies all rely on reliable quantification of acute-phase proteins in cattle. The Assay Genie ELISA kit measures alpha-1-acid glycoprotein (a1AGP), a major acute-phase reactant whose circulating concentrations rise sharply during infection, inflammation, surgical trauma, and chronic stress. The immunoassay uses paired antibodies immobilized on a microplate, combined with a chromogenic substrate that yields an absorbance signal proportional to a1AGP captured from the loaded specimen.

This in vitro kit supports bovine health research and biomedical studies where acute-phase status must be quantified. Practical applications include tracking inflammatory responses in dairy and beef herds, evaluating disease progression in models of bovine mastitis, metritis, or respiratory infection, screening specimens collected during vaccination or transport-stress trials, and characterizing a1AGP as a drug-binding protein relevant to pharmacokinetic investigations.

The kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate, reference standards, detection antibody, substrate solution, wash buffer, and assay diluent, providing enough reagent for the full plate run in duplicate. Reconstituted reagents should be kept refrigerated, and the chromogenic substrate stored protected from light. Each run follows a sequential incubation and wash workflow with absorbance readout on a standard microplate reader.

For research use only. Pair this kit with appropriate bovine-specific controls and validate findings against expected acute-phase reference ranges when comparing healthy versus challenged animal cohorts.
