BCL-XL (Phospho-Ser62)Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit is designed for the qualitative determination of BCL-XL (Phospho-Ser62) phosphorylation and expression in cultured cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which the target is captured by BCL-XL (Phospho-Ser62)-specific primary antibodies, with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalysing a colorimetric reaction read at 450 nm. It is a lysate-free, high-throughput and sensitive assay intended for adherent cell samples, and can be used to screen the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on BCL-XL phosphorylation.

Reactivity is reported for Human, Mouse, and Rat, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included to serve as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and following the colorimetric measurement the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density so that absorbance values can be normalised to cell amounts. The target gene is BCL2L1 (Gene ID: 598; UniProt ID: Q07817), encoding BCL-XL, an antiapoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family located at the outer mitochondrial membrane, where it regulates VDAC opening and thereby influences mitochondrial membrane potential, reactive oxygen species production, and release of cytochrome C.
