BCL-2 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

The BCL-2 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is a cell-based, lysate-free immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of BCL-2 protein expression in cultured cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which BCL-2 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected using HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. It is suitable for measuring relative BCL-2 levels in adherent cells and for screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators.

The kit is validated for human, mouse, and rat reactivity, with detection performed colorimetrically at 450 nm and a dynamic range of > 5000 cells. Two normalization strategies are provided: an anti-GAPDH monoclonal antibody serves as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining can be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences. Storage is at 4°C with 6 months stability.

BCL-2 is an antiapoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family that regulates cell death by controlling mitochondrial membrane permeability, and the kit is positioned for research into apoptosis, cancer biology, and cell signalling pathways.
