BAD Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based (In-Cell) ELISA Kit enables colorimetric detection of BAD protein in adherent cultured cells, with absorbance measured at 450 nm. The assay is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples and is designed for a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells.

The kit is lysate-free and high-throughput, using an indirect ELISA format. BAD is captured by BAD-specific primary antibodies, then detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. A monoclonal Anti-GAPDH antibody is included to serve as an internal positive control, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used to normalize absorbance values to cell density. The kit is stored at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 Months.

BAD (Bcl2-associated agonist of cell death) is a proapoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family that displaces Bax from binding to Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL, resulting in cell death. The kit is suitable for measuring relative BAD protein levels in cultured cells and for screening the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on BAD expression.
