Description

Designed for the qualitative determination of BACH1 protein expression in cultured cells, this cell-based ELISA from Assay Genie uses a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm. The assay follows an indirect ELISA format, in which BACH1 is captured by BACH1-specific primary antibodies and detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

Validated for human reactivity and intended for use with adherent cells, the kit offers a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells and is supplied in a 96-well microplate format. Storage is at 4°C for 6 Months. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is used to determine cell density, allowing absorbance values to be normalized to cell counts and plating differences to be adjusted.

BACH1 is a transcription factor of the bZIP family (CNC subfamily) that acts as a repressor or activator, binding in vitro to NF-E2 sites and coordinating transcription activation and repression. The protein contains BTB/POZ domains that facilitate protein-protein interactions and the formation of homo- and/or hetero-oligomers, and has a molecular weight of 81,958 Da. The kit supports research in epigenetics and nuclear signaling, with applications in studies of oxidative stress response, cellular homeostasis, and diseases including cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and neurological conditions.
