Description

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the detection and quantification of Aurora-B levels in cell lysates and tissue homogenates, with reactivity across human, mouse and rat samples. It uses a colorimetric detection method at 450 nm and is supplied in a 96-well microplate format suitable for adherent cell applications. The assay is lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive, offering qualitative determination of AurB/C protein expression through an indirect ELISA format. In this format, AurB/C is captured by AurB/C-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, catalysing a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

Aurora-B is a key regulator of cell division and chromosomal segregation, helping to maintain genomic stability, and its dysregulation has been linked to diseases including cancer and developmental disorders, making it a target of therapeutic interest. The kit can be used to measure relative amounts of AurB/C in cultured cells and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals) or activators. For data normalization, a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is provided as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step can be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences.

Recommended storage is at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 months, and the dynamic range is greater than 5000 cells.
