Description

Designed by Assay Genie as a high-quality In-Cell ELISA option, this colorimetric Cell-Based kit is intended for measuring ATP1A1 protein levels in cell lysates and cell culture samples, with detection at 450 nm. The assay is lysate-free, high throughput and qualitative, using an indirect ELISA format in which ATP1A1 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected via HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colourimetric reaction upon substrate addition. It offers high sensitivity and specificity for reliable results.

Reactive with Human, Mouse and Rat samples and suitable for adherent cells, the assay has a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. It can be used to measure relative ATP1A1 amounts in cultured cells and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, or activators. Normalisation is supported by an included anti-GAPDH monoclonal antibody acting as an internal positive control, together with the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method to account for cell density after the colourimetric reaction.

ATP1A1 (sodium/potassium-transporting ATPase subunit alpha-1) is the catalytic component of the Na+/K+-ATPase, which establishes the electrochemical gradients of Na and K ions across the plasma membrane. Dysfunction of ATP1A1 has been linked to hypertension, heart failure and neurological disorders, making this kit relevant for studies in cell biology, physiology and pharmacology within the Signal Transduction research area. Storage is at 4°C with a stability of 6 Months.
