Description

The Assay Genie ATF2 (Phospho-Ser480) Transcription Factor Activity Assay is a DNA-binding ELISA kit for the detection and qualitative analysis of ATF2 (Phospho-Ser480) active transcription factors in eukaryotic nuclear or cell lysates. It is designed for measuring ATF2 phosphorylation at serine 480 in cell lysates.

The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with detection at 450 nm and has an assay time of 4.5 hours. Reactivity is stated for human, mouse and rat, with nuclear or cell lysates listed as the sample type. Storage is stated at 4°C for 6 months.

ATF2 is a transcription factor in the leucine zipper family of DNA-binding proteins. It binds to the cAMP-responsive element (CRE), forms a homodimer or heterodimer with c-Jun and stimulates CRE-dependent transcription, and also possesses histone acetyltransferase (HAT) activity that specifically acetylates histones H2B and H4 in vitro. Measuring this phosphorylation can support research into ATF2 transcriptional activity and its involvement in cellular responses to stress, DNA damage and inflammatory stimuli.
