Description
This colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed to detect ATF2 phosphorylated at serine 480 in cell lysates using a microplate format. The assay targets the phospho-Ser480 modification of ATF2, a transcription factor involved in cellular stress responses, cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Phosphorylation at this site is known to influence its transcriptional activity, making the kit relevant for studies of cellular signalling pathways and gene regulation.
Reactivity is confirmed for human and rat samples, with adherent cells as the recommended sample type. Detection is achieved by an indirect ELISA format in which the target is captured by phospho-specific primary antibodies and detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies, with colour development read at 450 nm. The assay is lysate-free and offers a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is provided to normalise absorbance readings to cell density, accommodating plating variation between wells.
Typical applications include measuring relative levels of phosphorylated ATF2 in cultured cells and screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors, or activators on ATF2 phosphorylation. The kit is suited to both basic research and drug development work on cellular signalling and gene expression.
