ATF1 (Activating Transcription Factor 1) is a CREB-family transcription factor that binds the cAMP response element (CRE) to regulate target gene expression. This DNA-binding ELISA kit from Assay Genie quantifies functional ATF1 binding activity in nuclear and cell lysates, rather than total protein level, by immobilizing a CRE consensus oligonucleotide on the plate and detecting bound ATF1 with a specific antibody.

The assay accepts samples from human, mouse, and rat origins, enabling comparative cAMP/PKA signaling studies across species. Each pack provides reagents for 96 Assays using a standard microplate workflow, with a typical sample volume of 10 uL of nuclear extract per well. Reconstituted antibodies and probes should be aliquoted and stored frozen at -20 degrees C to limit freeze-thaw loss, while the coated plate and diluents are kept refrigerated at 4 degrees C until use.

Intended for research use only. Common applications include studying CREB/ATF1-driven transcription, evaluating cAMP pathway activation by pharmacological stimuli, and profiling transcription factor activity in chromatin or nuclear extracts in vitro.
