Androgen Receptor Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

This cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie provides qualitative measurement of androgen receptor protein expression in cultured cells. The androgen receptor mediates the actions of androgens such as testosterone, and dysregulation of its signaling is implicated in diseases including prostate cancer and androgen insensitivity syndromes. Using a colorimetric detection method at 450 nm, the assay employs an indirect ELISA format in which androgen receptor-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The kit is reactive with human samples and is suitable for use with adherent cells, with a dynamic range of > 5000 cells.

The lysate-free workflow supports high-throughput screening of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators and their effects on androgen receptor levels. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used to determine cell density for further normalization. The kit is stored at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 months.
