Am (Amantadine) ELISA Kit

The Am (Amantadine) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is a competitive immunoassay intended for quantitative residue screening of amantadine in food matrices of animal origin. The kit is used in food safety laboratories testing poultry muscle, eggs, and bovine milk to monitor veterinary drug residues in compliance with food safety regulations, and provides a working detection range of 0.1 to 10 ppb (μg/kg) across these validated matrices.

Amantadine is an adamantane-class antiviral originally developed for influenza prophylaxis and later applied in Parkinson's disease therapy. Residue monitoring is relevant because the compound has been documented as an off-label veterinary substance in livestock and poultry production. The competitive immunoassay format is necessary because amantadine is a small molecule that cannot be detected in a sandwich antibody configuration, and the assay shows cross-reactivity primarily with amantadine over related adamantane analogs such as rimantadine at less than 5%.

Each kit contains reagents sufficient for 96 assays, run on a standard microplate reader with an HRP-TMB colorimetric readout. Reagents should be stored refrigerated on receipt and equilibrated to room temperature before the run. The package includes precoated plate wells, calibrators, enzyme conjugate, substrate solution, wash buffer, and stop solution for in vitro residue testing workflows.
