Aldosterone ELISA Kit

A competitive ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of aldosterone levels in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay is coated with antigen and uses a colorimetric detection method with TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

The kit has a sensitivity of 1.875 pg/mL and a working range of 3.125–200 pg/mL. In linearity testing (n = 10), serum showed 96–104% at a 1:2 dilution, 86–97% at 1:4, and 85–102% at 1:8; EDTA plasma showed 85–101%, 83–98%, and 84–100%; and heparin plasma showed 82–100%, 82–98%, and 82–94%. Recovery testing (n = 10) yielded averages of 97% for serum (range 87–104%), 97% for EDTA plasma (range 85–102%), and 99% for heparin plasma (range 93–103%).

Aldosterone is a steroid hormone that plays a key role in regulating blood pressure and electrolyte balance. Reactivity is universal. Kits should be stored sealed at 2–8°C and not cryopreserved.
