Akt1 S1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A cell-based ELISA from Assay Genie provides qualitative detection of Akt1 S1 protein expression directly in cultured cells using an indirect immunoassay format. The protocol is lysate-free and designed for use with adherent cells, with a dynamic range of > 5000 cells. Target-specific primary antibodies are bound and then detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction measured at 450 nm.

A monoclonal anti-human GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for absorbance normalization, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step allows further adjustment for differences in cell density. The assay is reactive with human, mouse and rat samples and is configured for a 96-well microplate format. Reagents are stable at 4°C for six months.

Akt1, also known as protein kinase B, is a key regulator of cell growth, survival and metabolism, and dysregulation of Akt1 signaling has been implicated in cancer, diabetes and neurological disorders. The kit is suited to studying Akt1 signaling pathways and for applications in drug development and precision-medicine research, including screening the effects of inhibitors such as siRNA or chemical compounds, as well as activators.
