Akt1 (Phospho-Thr308)Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA kit is designed for the qualitative measurement of Akt1 (Phospho-Thr308) in cell lysates and tissue homogenates from adherent cells. It uses an indirect ELISA format in which a phospho-Akt1 (Thr308)-specific primary antibody is paired with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies; the bound HRP catalyses a colorimetric reaction read at 450 nm. The assay is reactive with Human, Mouse and Rat samples and has a stated dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. Researchers can use the kit to measure the relative amount of phosphorylated Akt1 in cultured cells and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals) or activators on Akt1 phosphorylation. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control to normalise target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step may be used to determine cell density and correct for plating differences.
