Description

For the precise measurement of AKAP8 (A-kinase anchor protein 8) levels in cell lysates and tissue samples, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is supplied as an In-Cell ELISA using a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm. The assay is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples and has a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. Qualitative determination of AKAP8 protein expression in cultured cells is achieved via an indirect ELISA format, in which AKAP8-specific primary antibodies capture the target while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

The kit is suitable for measuring relative AKAP8 levels in cultured cells and for screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on AKAP8. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density after the colorimetric measurement. The kit is stored at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 Months and is categorized within the Immunology research area.

AKAP8 is an anchoring protein that mediates the subcellular compartmentation of cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA type II), belongs to the AKAP95 family, and contributes to the regulation of signal transduction pathways that influence cell proliferation and gene expression.
