AKAP1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA

Assay Genie provides a cell-based ELISA kit for the qualitative measurement of AKAP1 (A-kinase anchor protein 1) expression in cultured adherent cells. The assay uses an indirect colorimetric format: AKAP1-specific primary antibodies capture the target, while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition, read at 450 nm. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is supplied for normalizing absorbance values to cell density.

Designed as a lysate-free, high-throughput workflow, the kit supports studies of relative AKAP1 expression and screening for the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on AKAP1 levels. The dynamic range exceeds 5000 cells, the kit is supplied in a 96-well microplate format, and it is stored at 4°C for up to 6 months. AKAP1 binds type I and II regulatory subunits of protein kinase A, anchoring them to the cytoplasmic face of the mitochondrial outer membrane, and its dysregulation has been linked to cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and neurological conditions.
