Description

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the qualitative detection of AIRE protein phosphorylation at the Ser156 site, providing a lysate-free, high-throughput assay for studies in immunology and autoimmune disease. The kit uses an indirect ELISA format in which phospho-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction measured at 450 nm, with reactivity for human samples and a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells.

AIRE (Autoimmune Regulator) is a transcriptional regulator that promotes the expression of tissue-specific self-antigens in the thymus, a process central to immune tolerance, and dysregulation of AIRE has been implicated in autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome type 1 (APS-1). The kit supports investigation of the molecular mechanisms underlying these disorders and screening of treatments, inhibitors, or activators that affect AIRE phosphorylation. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is used to normalize absorbance values to cell density.

Database identifiers associated with the target include Gene ID 326 and UniProt ID O43918, with the gene located on chromosome 21q22.3 and encoding the autoimmune regulator protein of 36,501 Da.
