Description

A colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is intended for the precise measurement of phosphorylated ADD1/2 (Adducin 1/2) levels at serine 726 in cell lysates. The kit is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, and is suited to adherent cells, with a stated dynamic range of > 5000 cells. Detection relies on a colorimetric reaction measured at 450 nm, using an indirect ELISA format in which phospho-ADD1/2-specific primary antibodies are bound by HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies.

ADD1/2 is described as a key regulator of actin cytoskeleton organization and cell adhesion, with serine 726 phosphorylation modulating its role in cell migration, shape, and stability, making the kit relevant to studies of cell signalling and motility. The qualitative assay can be used to measure relative levels of phosphorylated ADD1/2 in cultured cells and to screen the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (including siRNA or chemicals), or activators on ADD1/2 phosphorylation. An anti-GAPDH monoclonal antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used to determine cell density.
