Description

This Assay Genie cell-based ELISA kit provides a colorimetric method for detecting ADARB1 protein expression in cultured cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which ADARB1 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies binding the Fc region of the primary antibody. HRP catalyses a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition, read at 450 nm.

Reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples, the kit is intended for high-throughput, lysate-free measurement of relative ADARB1 levels in adherent cells. It can be used to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on ADARB1 expression. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalising the target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step may be used to determine cell density for further adjusting plating differences. The kit is supplied in a 96-Well Microplate format.

ADARB1 is an RNA editing enzyme that catalyses the hydrolytic deamination of adenosine to inosine in double-stranded RNA, referred to as A-to-I RNA editing, with roles in mRNA translation, pre-mRNA splicing, RNA stability, and RNA structure-dependent activities. Recommended storage is 4 °C with a stated stability of 6 months.
