Description

A cell-based ELISA from Assay Genie enables qualitative profiling of ABHD6 protein expression in cultured adherent cells, with reactivity confirmed for human, mouse, and rat samples. Detection follows an indirect ELISA format in which ABHD6-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The workflow is suited to measuring relative ABHD6 levels in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.

The kit is lysate-free and designed for high-throughput use, supporting screening of the effects that treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on ABHD6. The colorimetric signal is read at 450 nm on a standard microplate reader, and the assay supports a dynamic range of more than 5000 cells per well. An included anti-GAPDH monoclonal antibody serves as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step can be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences. The kit is stored at 4 °C with a stated stability of 6 months.

ABHD6 (UniProt Q9BV23; Gene ID 57406) is a monoacylglycerol lipase with 2-arachidonoylglycerol hydrolase activity. It is an integral membrane protein present in the plasma membrane and mitochondria, and it belongs to the AB hydrolase superfamily, making it a relevant target in metabolism research and studies of metabolic disorders, cancer, and neurodegenerative disease.
