AA/Arachidonic Acid ELISA Kit

A competitive immunoassay from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of arachidonic acid (AA) in biological samples. The kit uses a coated-antigen format with colorimetric detection and is suitable for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The kit should be stored sealed at 2-8°C; cryopreservation is not recommended.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.938 ug/mL and an assay range of 1.563-100 ug/mL. Linearity in serum at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is reported as 85-99%, 88-96% and 88-102% respectively, with EDTA plasma at 86-99%, 90-98% and 83-99%, and heparin plasma at 86-99%, 83-98% and 87-99%. Recovery ranges are 92-103% (average 95%) for serum, 85-100% (average 94%) for EDTA plasma, and 85-101% (average 98%) for heparin plasma.

The assay procedure involves equilibration of TMB substrate, addition of standard or sample with biotin-labelled antibody, washing, color development with TMB substrate in the dark, addition of stop solution, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm. Sample preparation protocols are provided for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell lysate, tissue homogenate and other sample types.
