Quantitative 12-HETE measurement for eicosanoid research

12-Hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (12-HETE) is a hydroxylated eicosanoid generated from arachidonic acid through the 12-lipoxygenase pathway. The Assay Genie 12-HETE ELISA Kit provides a competitive immunoassay workflow for quantifying this lipid mediator in plasma or serum specimens, supporting research into inflammation, atherosclerosis, cancer progression, and metabolic disease where altered eicosanoid signaling is under active investigation.

Built around a 96 Assays microplate with colorimetric readout, the kit is intended for research use only and is not validated for clinical diagnostic procedures. The assay uses a competitive format in which sample 12-HETE competes with a conjugated reference analyte for antibody binding sites; the resulting color intensity is inversely proportional to 12-HETE concentration in the well. Researchers working on platelet aggregation, vascular biology, and the broader cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase cascade can integrate this kit into existing lipid mediator workflows.

Reagents should be stored refrigerated upon arrival and protected from light. Allow plate and buffers to equilibrate to room temperature before running the assay, and refer to the supplied protocol for preparation of standards, incubation times, and standard curve handling.
