Type-it HRM PCR Kit (400)

QIAGEN's HRM PCR Kit is designed for fast and accurate detection of gene mutations and SNPs by High-Resolution Melting (HRM) analysis. The kit provides a reliable solution for genotyping via HRM and is validated for accurate resolution of sequence variations and unambiguous allelic discrimination.

The 2x HRM PCR Master Mix contains HotStarTaq Plus DNA Polymerase, a dedicated HRM PCR Buffer, Q-Solution, dNTPs, and the novel saturating dsDNA-binding fluorescent dye EvaGreen. Together these components ensure PCR specificity and reliable results even with difficult genomic loci. The master mix format eliminates the need for optimization when developing new assays, enables convenient room-temperature reaction setup, and minimizes pipetting errors.

The kit is functionally validated for mutation scanning and detection of SNPs, including Class IV SNPs, and can be used to screen samples for unknown mutations such as insertions and deletions. A deletion or insertion of more than 2 base pairs can usually be detected in a background of 85–95% wild-type DNA. It is compatible with real-time instruments suitable for HRM analysis, including the Rotor-Gene Q, Rotor-Gene 6000, LightCycler 480, and the Applied Biosystems 7500 Fast System, and comes with preoptimized application-specific protocols. The reaction uses genomic DNA, does not require a sequence-specific probe, is supplied without ROX, and supports both real-time and endpoint readouts.
