QuantiTect SYBR Green RT-PCR Kit (200)

This one-step RT-PCR kit from QIAGEN combines reverse transcription and SYBR Green I-based real-time PCR in a single tube, enabling streamlined quantification of RNA targets. The QuantiTect SYBR Green RT-PCR Kit is supplied as a 2x QuantiTect SYBR Green RT-PCR Master Mix containing HotStarTaq DNA Polymerase, QuantiTect SYBR Green RT-PCR Buffer (Tris·Cl, KCl, (NH4)2SO4, 5 mM MgCl2, pH 8.7 at 20°C), a dNTP mix including dUTP, SYBR Green I, and ROX passive reference dye. QuantiTect RT Mix supplies an optimized blend of Omniscript and Sensiscript reverse transcriptases — Omniscript is suited for RNA amounts greater than 50 ng and Sensiscript for amounts below 50 ng. RNase-free water is included.

HotStarTaq DNA Polymerase remains inactive during reverse transcription and is activated by a 15-minute, 95°C incubation step, which also inactivates the reverse-transcription enzymes to separate the two reactions. The KCl and (NH4)2SO4 combination in the buffer promotes stringent primer annealing. The kit is validated for use with Rotor-Gene cyclers and instruments from Applied Biosystems, Bio-Rad, Cepheid, Eppendorf, Roche, and Agilent.

The kit is shipped on dry ice and stored at –20°C protected from light; the 2x master mix may also be stored at 2–8°C for up to 6 months. It is intended for molecular biology applications and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease.
