TissueLyser LT

QIAGEN's TissueLyser LT is a compact bead mill tissue homogenizer designed for fast, efficient disruption of up to 12 biological samples at the same time. The instrument achieves simultaneous disruption and homogenization through high-speed shaking of samples in 2 ml microcentrifuge tubes with stainless steel or glass beads, and is programmable for variable speeds from 15 to 50 Hz (900–3000 oscillations/minute) with run times from 1 second to 1 hour 59 minutes.

With a small footprint of approximately 15 cm × 27 cm and a weight of around 7 kg, the TissueLyser LT fits easily into any laboratory and operates on a power supply compatible with 100–240 V. It must be used in combination with the coolable TissueLyser LT Adapter, which holds up to twelve 2 ml sample tubes and can be precooled on dry ice to prevent degradation of nucleic acids and proteins when processing fresh or frozen samples. Because each sample is sealed within its own tube, the system enables disruption of multiple samples without risk of cross-contamination.

The TissueLyser LT provides effective disruption of human, animal, and plant tissues, bacteria, and yeast — including difficult-to-lyse tissues such as heart and brain — supporting reproducible yields of DNA, RNA, and protein in downstream purification workflows. The instrument is fully compatible with QIAGEN's manual sample preparation kits and complements the company's automated solutions for medium-throughput sample preparation, including the QIAcube, QIAsymphony SP, QIAxtractor, EZ1 Advanced, EZ1 Advanced XL, BioRobot, and BioSprint workstations.
