Grinding Jar Set, S. Steel (2 x 10 ml)

QIAGEN grinding jar set designed for efficient disruption and homogenization of large biological samples on the TissueLyser system. Each stainless steel jar is opened and closed by a screw mechanism and can hold one grinding ball. The accessory supports disruption of difficult-to-lyse samples such as cells, tissues, and bones, and is suited to front-end sample preparation for genomic, transcriptomic, and metatranscriptomic applications.

The set features 20 mm stainless steel grinding balls, which are recommended for disrupting hard samples such as bone, as well as for disrupting samples in liquid nitrogen. The screw closure provides a secure seal during high-speed shaking, helping to prevent sample loss during homogenization.

Used in combination with the TissueLyser III, the jars are shaken at high speed, disrupting and homogenizing samples by the beating and grinding effect of the grinding balls. Each jar accommodates 4–10 ml of sample.
