Pathogen Lysis Tubes S (50)

These mechanical lysis tubes from QIAGEN are intended for pretreatment of difficult-to-lyse bacteria as part of pathogen identification workflows. The QIAsprint Pathogen Application Guide lists the tubes as a required component, to be used in combination with Buffer ATL and either a vortexer with a Microtube Foam Insert or the TissueLyser III; each tube includes Reagent DX, and the choice of tube variant depends on the pathogen target.

A QIAGEN application note describes use of the small variant for processing swab samples, paired with the TissueLyser LT and QIAamp UCP Pathogen Kits, to achieve effective mechanical lysis of microbial cells and obtain high yields of microbial genomic DNA from bacteria, yeast, and other fungi.
