TeSR-AOF

From STEMCELL Technologies, TeSR-AOF is an animal origin-free (AOF), stabilized, serum-free cell culture medium designed for the feeder-free maintenance and expansion of human embryonic stem (ES) and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. It is based on the TeSR formulation and incorporates stabilization of critical medium components, including fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2; also known as basic FGF [bFGF]), to support cell quality and equivalent performance under both daily and restricted feeding schedules.

The medium is compatible with a variety of culture matrices, including Corning Matrigel hESC-Qualified Matrix, Vitronectin XF, Biolaminin 521 MX, and Biolaminin 521 CTG. No materials of animal or human origin are used in the manufacture of this medium or its components, to at least the secondary level of manufacturing. Each lot of the 20X Supplement used to prepare complete medium is performance-tested in a culture assay using human pluripotent stem cells.

The product is provided as two components: a Basal Medium (stored at 2 - 8°C) and a 20X Supplement (stored at -20°C), each with a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture. Complete medium is prepared by adding the thawed supplement to the basal medium. This product is designated a prototype, manufactured using qualified materials in a GMP facility but not completing full cGMP qualification, and is sold for research use only under a non-transferable, limited-use license.
