Human plasma-derived fibronectin supplied as a 1 mg vial from STEMCELL Technologies is a substrate used to coat tissue culture plasticware and glass for cell adhesion. This extracellular matrix glycoprotein supports attachment and spreading of primary cells, including mesenchymal stem cells and human pluripotent stem cell lines, making it useful in defined culture workflows. The lyophilized powder is reconstituted in sterile distilled water or PBS, then diluted into coating buffer (typically around 5 ug/cm2) and incubated on cultureware overnight at 2-8 degrees C before cell seeding. Researchers apply it for cell migration, differentiation, and matrix-interaction studies, and for routine passaging of adhesion-dependent lines. Store the lyophilized vial refrigerated and protected from light; once reconstituted, aliquot and freeze at -20 degrees C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. The human-specific sequence supports species-relevant attachment assays.
