StemSpan Erythroid Expansion Supplement

Cell culture supplement supporting the expansion of erythroid progenitor cells from hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells in vitro. This product from STEMCELL Technologies provides a defined combination of cytokines and growth factors, added to a basal medium such as StemSpan SFEM II, to drive proliferation and differentiation along the erythroid lineage.

Investigators use it to generate red blood cell precursors from CD34+ cells sourced from cord blood, peripheral blood, or bone marrow, supporting research in erythropoiesis, sickle cell disease modeling, and the development of cultured red cell transfusion products. The supplement is supplied as a frozen vial and shipped on dry ice; once received, it should be stored at -20°C, then aliquoted to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and preserve activity.
