StemSpan CD34+ Expansion Supplement

A defined, serum-free culture supplement from STEMCELL Technologies, formulated for the ex vivo expansion of human CD34+ hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells isolated from cord blood, peripheral blood, or bone marrow. The supplement is added to a serum-free base medium such as StemSpan SFEM II and provides a reproducible cytokine combination that supports proliferation of primitive hematopoietic progenitors while preserving colony-forming potential.

Researchers use this reagent in cell culture workflows investigating hematopoiesis, gene editing of HSPCs, and preclinical development of cell and gene therapies. Each vial is supplied frozen and should be stored at -20 degrees C or below, with single-use aliquots recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The 10 mL format is sufficient to supplement approximately 50 mL of complete medium, depending on starting cell density and target expansion fold.
