This serum-free formulation from STEMCELL Technologies supports the maintenance and expansion of neural progenitor cells derived from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs). Used within the STEMdiff neural induction workflow, the medium sustains NPC populations expressing characteristic markers such as PAX6, Nestin, and SOX2 across multiple passages. Investigators in disease modeling, neurodevelopmental research, and high-throughput drug screening rely on this medium for reproducible in vitro neuronal differentiation protocols.

The kit is supplied in a bottle format and the supplement components should be stored at -20 °C to preserve the activity of recombinant growth factors, with thawed aliquots held at 4 °C for short-term handling. A standard workflow involves plating hPSCs as single cells or small clusters, followed by neural rosette selection and subsequent expansion in this medium, supporting downstream differentiation into neurons, astrocytes, or oligodendrocyte lineages.
