STEMdiff Neural Induction Medium

Defined and serum-free, the neural induction formulation from STEMCELL Technologies converts human pluripotent stem cells (hESCs and hiPSCs) into neural progenitor cells within approximately 7 days. Supplied as a research use only kit with a 100 mL basal medium bottle and a frozen supplement, it supports both monolayer and embryoid body-based neural induction workflows when combined with AggreWell plates or comparable substrates. Emerging cells exit pluripotency and organize into PAX6- and SOX1-positive neural rosettes that can be expanded for downstream applications including neurodegenerative disease modeling, in vitro toxicology screening, and developmental neurobiology studies.

Recommended handling: thaw the supplement briefly at room temperature, store the basal component refrigerated, and keep the supplement frozen at -20 degrees C until first use to preserve differentiation activity. The system integrates directly with other STEMCELL Technologies products such as mTeSR Plus maintenance medium and the Neural Progenitor Differentiation workflow for lineage-committed neuronal or glial cultures.
