SmartDish (6-well plates) - 50 Pack

From STEMCELL Technologies, these 6-well culture plates are meniscus-free cultureware designed to enable accurate and reproducible counting of hematopoietic colonies in colony-forming unit (CFU) assays. By preventing meniscus formation, the plates promote an even distribution of culture medium throughout the 35 mm well, yielding a more uniform spread of colonies. Eliminating the meniscus also reduces optical distortion, making colonies at the edge of the well easier to count.

The cultureware is compatible with standard inverted microscopes for manual colony counts and with the STEMvision™ instrument for automated CFU assay counting. For manual workflows, the plates are used with the STEMgrid-6 detachable grid, which divides the culture into four quadrants to support partial counting.

Plates should be stored at 15–25°C. To maintain a well-hydrated environment during use, 4 mL of sterile water is added to the empty spaces between the wells. It is also recommended to place at least four additional 35 mm culture dishes, each containing 3–4 mL of sterile water, around the plates within a larger 245 mm square tray; up to three SmartDish 6-well plates can fit in such a tray. The product is for research use only and is manufactured under an ISO 13485-certified quality management system.
