Manufactured from polypropylene by Eppendorf, these colorless 2.0 mL Safe-Lock micro test tubes are the result of 50 years of continuous improvement and development. They protect samples with excellent centrifugation stability, optimized sealing properties, and reliable prevention of sample evaporation.

A hinged Safe-Lock lid prevents unintentional lid opening during incubation and storage. The tubes are manufactured without the use of slip agents, plasticizers, or biocides, and offer high resistance to chemicals, mechanical stress, and temperature extremes. Depending on the tube variant, exceptional centrifugation stability reaches up to 30,000 × g, helping prevent sample loss and providing additional safety when working with hazardous samples. Functionality is ensured from -86 °C to 100 °C, and the tubes can be autoclaved when open at 121 °C for 20 minutes. A large frosted lid and side surface support easy labeling, while precise lid sealing minimizes evaporation rates during long-term storage.

The range is available in several purity grades, including Eppendorf Quality, as well as Sterile, PCR clean, Biopur, and Forensic DNA Grade options. An IVD version of the tube is also offered.
