RT_ SYBR Green FAST Mastermix (12)

A real-time PCR reagent from QIAGEN, the RT² SYBR Green FAST Mastermix is formulated for SYBR Green-based detection. The mastermix contains real-time PCR buffer, a HotStart DNA Taq polymerase, nucleotides, and SYBR Green dye, with select formulations also supplied with fluorescein or ROX reference dye for instrument optimisation. It belongs to the Assay Technologies consumables portfolio.

According to the manufacturer, the mastermix delivers high amplification efficiencies alongside high levels of sensitivity and specificity, and its chemically modified HotStart enzyme is designed to prevent the amplification of primer–dimers and other nonspecific products. The optimised fast-cycling protocol uses a 10-second denaturation step and a 30-second annealing/extension step, and dissociation curves obtained with the mastermix show lower background and a sharper profile than those generated under regular cycling conditions.

The mastermix is intended for use with QIAGEN's RT² Profiler and RT² lncRNA PCR arrays on the Rotor-Gene Q, and is also suited to self-designed qPCR assays on other real-time PCR instruments operating with fast cycling conditions, including Bio-Rad CFX96 and CFX384, Bio-Rad/MJ Research Chromo4, DNA Engine Opticon and Opticon 2, Roche LightCycler 480 (96- and 384-well), Eppendorf Mastercycler ep realplex without ROX filter set, and Cepheid SmartCycler. Fluorescein-containing formulations are designed for Bio-Rad iCycler, iQ5, MyiQ, and MyiQ2, while ROX-containing formulations support QIAGEN's Rotor-Gene Q, Applied Biosystems 5700/7000/7300/7500 (Standard and Fast)/7700/7900HT/StepOnePlus/ViiA 7, Eppendorf Mastercycler ep realplex with or without ROX filter set, Stratagene Mx3000P/Mx3005P/Mx4000, and Takara TP-800.
