Repro.& Maint. of hPSCs Course-UK-Winter

This multi-day hands-on training workshop from STEMCELL Technologies delivers focused instruction on reprogramming somatic cells into human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) and on their long-term maintenance. Held at a UK venue during the winter season, the program combines instructor-led lectures with extended wet-lab sessions in a BSL-2 cell culture facility, giving attendees direct experience with feeder-free and feeder-dependent culture systems, enzymatic and mechanical passaging, cryopreservation workflows, and routine mycoplasma monitoring.

Participants work through reprogramming approaches such as integration-free episomal vectors and mRNA-based delivery, then move on to characterization by immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, and karyotype analysis. The course is structured for graduate students, postdocs, and core facility staff who are building or expanding an hPSC program and need reproducible, protocol-driven outcomes. Each module ends with a troubleshooting discussion, and attendees receive a certificate of completion; all in vitro wet-lab reagents and consumables are supplied for the duration of the workshop, with class size kept small to ensure bench time per participant.
