Rat Enkephalin ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Enkephalin/ENK in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Enkephalin/ENK. Standards and test samples are added to the wells and bound by the immobilised antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Enkephalin/ENK Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate and further incubation and washing. A TMB substrate solution is then added, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow after the addition of acidic stop solution. The absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader, and the concentration of Enkephalin/ENK is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The product range is 93.8-6000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 25.13 pg/ml. The assay is run on a pre-coated microplate of 12 x 8 well strips, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery values (n=5) are 80%-102% (average 91%) for serum, 81%-100% (average 90%) for EDTA plasma, and 80%-89% (average 84%) for heparin plasma. Dilution linearity is reported across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions (n=5), with serum ranging 74%-107%, EDTA plasma 79%-108%, and heparin plasma 82%-105%. Kit components include a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, 30X wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers, with storage conditions of +4°C or -20°C depending on the component.
