Annexin V-FITC Apoptosis Detection Kit

The Antibodies.com Annexin V-FITC Apoptosis Detection Kit identifies early apoptotic cells by exploiting the calcium-dependent binding of Annexin V to phosphatidylserine, which translocates to the outer leaflet of the plasma membrane during programmed cell death. The FITC label enables direct quantification by flow cytometry on the FL1 detector channel, making the assay suitable for routine in vitro cell culture work and drug-screening studies.

Each 100-test kit includes FITC-conjugated Annexin V, 5× concentrated binding buffer, and propidium iodide counterstain to discriminate late apoptotic and necrotic cells. A standard staining uses a sample volume of 100 μL of cell suspension at 1×10⁶ cells/mL, with 5 μL of Annexin V-FITC and 5 μL of propidium iodide, incubated for 15 minutes at room temperature in the dark before acquisition. Reagents should be stored refrigerated and protected from light to maintain fluorophore stability across the shelf life of the kit.
