Annexin V binds phosphatidylserine residues that translocate to the outer leaflet of the plasma membrane during early apoptosis, and the allophycocyanin (APC) fluorophore allows detection on the far-red channel (excitation ~633 nm, emission ~660 nm).

The 100-test format supplies sufficient reagent for routine screening of drug-treated cell lines, primary cultures, or suspension samples, and pairs naturally with a viability dye such as propidium iodide or 7-AAD to distinguish early apoptotic, late apoptotic, and necrotic populations.
