Hapten-carrier protein conjugates from Antibodies.com couple 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) to bovine serum albumin (BSA), supplied as a 1 mg liquid preparation for antibody development and competitive immunoassay workflows.
Because MDMA is a small molecule that does not itself drive a strong immune response, attachment to the BSA carrier protein produces an immunogen capable of raising polyclonal or monoclonal antibodies in host animals such as rabbits, goats, or mice. The same conjugate is also used as a coating antigen or labeled competitor during the optimization of competitive ELISA assays that screen amphetamine-class stimulants in forensic toxicology, clinical drug testing, and workplace screening matrices.
Researchers dilute the conjugate in working aliquots for immunization protocols or plate-coating buffers during assay validation runs. The conjugate is stored frozen at -20 °C, with single-use aliquots drawn to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles that degrade the BSA carrier.
