Rat Aldehyde Dehydrogenase, Mitochondrial ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this assay kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat ALDH2 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It uses a sandwich ELISA format with a colorimetric readout, where the concentration of ALDH2 is calculated from the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm against a standard curve.

The performance includes an assay range of 0.781–50 ng/ml, a sensitivity of <0.32 ng/ml, and a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. The assay is performed on a pre-coated microplate using a Biotinylated Anti-ALDH2 Antibody, HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate; the enzymatic reaction produces a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution.

Spike-and-recovery testing in serum (n=5) gave an average of 91% (range 80–102%); EDTA plasma averaged 90% (range 81–100%) and heparin plasma averaged 84% (range 80–89%). Dilution linearity has been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in each sample matrix. Kit components are stored at +4°C or –20°C as indicated, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
