mTeSR1 Complete Kit - GMP

A feeder-free cell culture and maintenance medium manufactured under cGMP by STEMCELL Technologies, intended for human embryonic stem (ES) and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. The manufacturer describes it as the most widely published feeder-free medium for these cell types.

On Corning® Matrigel® Matrix, undifferentiated human ES and iPS cells retain prominent nucleoli and a high nuclear-to-cytoplasmic ratio after 10 passages. Cultured cells express the undifferentiated markers OCT4 (OCT3) and TRA-1-60 after 8-10 passages and display a normal karyotype after 11 passages. The manufacturer reports high expansion rates when cultures are passaged after 6-7 days, with lower expansion expected at shorter culture times.
