mTeSR Plus Kit, 1 L

A stabilized, serum-free cell culture medium from STEMCELL Technologies, manufactured under cGMP, supports the feeder-free maintenance and expansion of human embryonic stem (ES) and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. The formulation enables flexible feeding schedules while maintaining a pH above 7.0 over a 72-hour period without feeding, and sustains stable FGF2 levels when cultured at 37°C over the same period as measured by ELISA.

Cells cultured in this medium on Corning® Matrigel® matrix retain characteristic undifferentiated morphology, including prominent nucleoli and a high nuclear-to-cytoplasmic ratio, and continue to express markers such as OCT3/4 and TRA-1-60. A normal karyotype is preserved over 30 passages, and colony size data were collected over 10 passages with restricted feeding. When supplemented with CloneR™, the medium supports single-cell cloning workflows at clonal densities of 25 cells/cm² on CellAdhere™ Vitronectin™ XF™-coated plates.

The medium is compatible with STEMdiff™ differentiation kits for the generation of neural progenitor cells, cerebral organoids, hematopoietic progenitor cells, cardiomyocytes, intestinal organoids, definitive endoderm, and pancreatic progenitors, supporting downstream research workflows in pluripotent stem cell biology.
