Mitochondrial Isolation Kit, 50tests

From STEMCELL Technologies, this Mitochondrial Isolation Kit provides a quick isolation technique to separate mitochondrial or cytosolic subcellular fractions from mammalian cells.

Validation work using HEK293 cells with Dounce homogenization demonstrates that isolated mitochondria remain intact after enrichment. Western blot analysis of mitochondrial and cytosolic fractions for voltage-dependent anion channels (VDAC) and cytochrome C supports this finding. In a separate assessment, mitochondria stained with JC-1 (Iodide) dye show high levels of fluorescence both in the presence and absence of valinomycin, indicating that healthy mitochondrial function is retained after isolation.
