MethoCult H4531, 100mL

A methylcellulose-based semisolid medium from STEMCELL Technologies, this formulation supports hematopoietic colony-forming unit (CFU) assays in vitro. The hydrocortisone-containing recipe is optimized for erythroid progenitor assays, including BFU-E and CFU-E enumeration from human bone marrow, peripheral blood, or cord blood samples. When paired with appropriate cytokines, the medium also sustains CFU-GM and CFU-GEMM colony growth.

Supplied as a 100 mL bottle, the ready-to-use medium is used widely in stem cell biology and hematology research. Plating 1 mL aliquots into 35 mm culture dishes or 6-well plates is the standard workflow. Store frozen at -20°C and protect from repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve colony-forming potential.
