MethoCult GF M3534, 100mL

Manufactured by STEMCELL Technologies, this methylcellulose-based medium is formulated with recombinant cytokines and contains no erythropoietin (EPO). It is optimized for the growth and enumeration of granulocyte-macrophage progenitor cells — specifically CFU-GM, CFU-G, and CFU-M — in colony-forming unit (CFU) assays of mouse bone marrow, spleen, peripheral blood, and fetal liver cells. Because EPO is absent, the medium does not support the growth of erythroid progenitor cells (BFU-E and CFU-E). It is compatible with STEMvision™ software for automated colony counting of mouse bone marrow CFU assays.

Classified as a laboratory reagent, the product is a stable, opaque red liquid and is not considered a hazardous substance or mixture under the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). According to its safety data sheet, it contains no ingredients with occupational exposure limits established by region-specific regulatory bodies.

Containers should be kept tightly closed in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place. The mixture contains material derived from human plasma; donors were tested and found negative for HIV-1 and -2, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C prior to donation, but the product should still be treated as potentially infectious and handled with appropriate biohazard controls.
